Attributes
From Idiot World Wiki
Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom are your basic attributes. They determine most of what contributes to a character. A warrior generally has more strength, and uses physical attacks, whereas a mage would have more intelligence and wisdom, and using more magic.
Generally speaking, strength is the brute force that determines if you are able to hit someone in a physical attack. It also determines how hard you hit in these physical attacks. The defender's dexterity is the most important factor in a physical combat. The higher this is, the easier it will be to avoid other people's attacks. Constitution determines how much damage you can take. It also yields a little magical resistance, preventing some spells from being casted against you. Intelligence determines how often you are able to hit someone in an offensive attack, as well as the damage, and thus is very important for any spellcaster. Wisdom determines your mana, with the benefit of adding damage to your offensive magical spells, as well as being a chief factor in most defensive spells.
A character's attributes define their makeup. What they are good at and what they are not, their strengths and weaknesses. A character can train to increase attributes. Death will cause each attribute above 100 to fall by 1.
Attributes can be temporarily increased by up to 50% using temple spells.

Strength
Strength (Str) determines your chances to hit with physical attacks, and also the amount of damage the attacks will inflict. Strength is also used to calculate your chances to hit a person on the counter attack and the damage you will inflict in this counter.
Note: Other attributes can modify the success & damage of your attacks (depending on the attack being used and not in the case of a counterattack), but strength is always used as a base.
Dexterity
Dexterity (Dex) is primarily a defensive attribute, used to protect a character from attacks. Defending physical attacks is entirely based upon dexterity whereas it is only a very small contributing factor in magic attacks.
Constitution
Constitution (Con) is used to calculate a character's hit points (HP), (HP = Con*20). It is also a slight help in preventing magic attacks from hitting a character.
Intelligence
Intelligence (Int) is a character's chance to hit with all offensive magic and is also used to calculate the chances to hit with a number of other spells. It is used as a base for calculating the damage a character will inflict in a magic attack. However unlike strength, Intelligence is only a small factor in calculating damage.
Wisdom
Wisdom (Wis) is a very important factor in calculating the potential damage a magic attack will have (more so than Intelligence). It is a character's most important attribute in avoiding any offensive magic, while also being used to calculate the chances of success with a number of non offensive magic attacks. Most importantly the protection spell. The success rate, defense against attacks and length the protection spell will last are all based solely upon the casting character's wisdom. Finally it is used to calculate the amount of mana a character has (mana = Wis*4).
Stat Builds
While any combination of attributes is valid and possible, most players tend to stick to a few attribute builds: Warrior, Mage, and Paladin. Each build is drastically different and has to be approached differently.
Warrior
Characters that are based on strength, dexterity, or constitution are known as warriors. Many warrior builds rely on brute force (emphasis on strength) while others rely on defense (emphasis on dexterity and constitution) to advance through the round. Warrior is the most versatile class because its three core attributes can be built in just about every combination and still be effective. Warriors rely on Regular and Beserk attacks.
Mage
Mages focus their attributes on intelligence and wisdom. Because their strength, dexterity, and constitution levels are minimal or nonexistent, mages tend to be very weak and are easy to kill in the beginning of a round. Later in a round, however, mages have enough wisdom to cast strong defensive spells on themselves such as Protection and Globe of Invulnerability (see magic). Different mage builds use different variations of training intelligence and wisdom depending if they would rather have better hit percentages (more intelligence) or more mana and stronger spells (more wisdom). Mages rely on their most basic spell--fireball--but have many spells in their arsenal.
Paladin
Paladins are the bridge between warriors and mages. Paladins tend to emphasize strength, constitution, and wisdom. They typically use warrior style attacks but are able to use certain mage spells because of their wisdom. Unlike mages, paladins must rely on constitution because they do not have intelligence and cannot use Drain Life--an offensive spell that steals HP from their target. While paladins are difficult to master, they prove to be very effective and are quite versatile with their build.
