Now you got someone you want to attack. How would you go about it?

You probably have an idea already, as it depends on your attributes - you can attack physically or magically.

An extended explanation of attacks and magic is available, but let's briefly go over each one of them.

For physical attacks, aptly named regular attack is the most basic - you use two turns to attack someone. If you do not kill the target, the target will retaliate using a regular attack of his/her own. Surprise attack costs an extra turn but avoids the sloppy aftermath. Both of these attacks are fundamental and is based purely on your strength. Berserked attack is basically a beefier version of the regular attack, also using your dexterity as a factor. It requires more turns, however, and the retaliation is easier. Stun and Charge are advanced attacks of limited use in the beginning. You can read more about them later.

Magic, magic, magic. We're going over the more advanced magic and their use later, but for now there are three magical spells you can wreck chaos with. Fireball is the fundamental spell that costs 3 turns. The Lightning Bolt is the Fireball's bigger brother, requiring 5 turns, but is easier to hit the target while dealing more damage. Drain Life is also mostly the same as Fireball with a twist. Every successful Drain Life will also let you absorb some of the damage dealt, healing you in the process. In fact, you can go over your max HP in this way!

In general, the damage from physical attacks is more volatile - sometimes you will do very little (or very much) damage. Damage from magic is more consistent. Remember, if you kill somebody, you gain additional experience!

Speaking of which, now to use that experience..
