Ah, all that experience. It's fun to hog experience, but it's even better when used on your character to build up one of your attributes. Click on Train on the menu:

You will get a brief reminder of what level each of your attribute is at, and how many turns and experience you have. It cost one turn and some experience to train one point of attribute. The more you have of one attribute, the more experience it will cost to train that attribute. For instance, it will cost more for Newbie to train strength than any other of his/her attributes.
